How Valuable Has CC Been To You?

Well, before I landed in CC, I didn't really worry about the SAT I, never even thought for a second thatI needed the SAT II (since my stupid school consular kept saying that the SAT II's were 'only for getting into Harvord' whem the bigger picture is 'Getting into any college other than state schools'), didn't think of the admision process as a big deal, never in my wildest dreams would order 20+ SAT 1 & 2 prep books from the library, never in my wildest dreams would I order 10+ books on Colleges and getting in, would be content with Brooklyn College, and would never make studing almost a part of my lifestyle.

Overall, I love it. :)

I came across this site while looking at info for possible grad schools, actually. Don't remember why I ended up joining, but someone has to answer all those questions about what college is like. ;) I don't even think this site was around in this form when I was going through the application process in 2002/2003 but I certainly didn't know about it. It would have been immensely helpful if I was able to use it, because all my parents really knew/cared about colleges was how expensive they were and how far they'd have to drive to get there, and my school's guidance counsellors are mostly trained to figure out which college will actually accept the kid with the 2.3 gpa and 900 SAT. Way too many factors I didn't think about and perfectly good schools I didn't consider for dumb reasons.

This site has been really valuable to me. No one I know really is a good resource for college info.

This site has made me want to kill myself at times, but it is a valuable source, especially when trying to come up with a realistic view of who your competition is (in my case, I think I might have been better off not knowing...), but it is also been enabling my terrible procrastination habit since I found it.

CC is awesome...i havent posted much but i've learnt a lot from here. And true, some of the people here are just CRAZY smart which is very intimidating. But still, i'm a bEEEEg CC fan

I lurked around this site for about 6 months before I actually posted. I've found this site to be very valuable, although it can get really annoying at times. I've learned so much about the college admissions process, different colleges, test prep, and being a better student. Before I was happy with my mediocre stats because nobody I knew had stats like mine. Then I came to this board and realized that I needed much more than that to get into the colleges I wanted to go to. Without this site I probably wouldn't be doing as well as I am.

i must say that in my epoch of using CC, i have definitely benefited. i've gotten my hands on some pretty useful material for college admissions, and i've met a variety of new people :) also, i feel less scared about the process, knowing that i can ask people on CC things that normal people may not know the answers to.

CC has been a lot of fun, and it helped "empower" me in the admissions process. That being said I dont think it effected the outcome at all
