I have to say the exam was better than I thought and I was a bit worried because I bsed all of my second semester of bio class. I didn't know anything literally on genetics, evolution, ecology, plants, endocrine system, reproductive lol. I'm being very serious. The only topic I knew hands down very well were biochem and everything else was so vague.

But we all kinda know that even if we don't study the AP doesn't test on everything. I agree that we call this the AP botany test...why is there so much on plants?? The 23 questions I left blank were all plants, genetics, evolution. I suck at hardy weinburg...pedigrees etc. I answered all of the rest.

I didn't understand why people left the matching blank. I've never seen any of the terms except for one in bio class or in the book (since I never read after enzymes). You just reason it out and once you match one you get the rest. Some names actually sound like they go together

I really didnt think the test was bad. I was actually kind of relieved when I saw the FREs because I thought they were pretty basic. NOW I'm starting to worry.

Everything was going fine until I opened the FRQ packet. My goodness, I didn't have a clue on #2, as in I absolutely, positively didn't know a single thing about that question. I'm pretty sure the curve will take care of that though, since most of the other kids taking it also had no idea.

I feel this test was way harder than the past AP exams (I took 1994, 1999, 2002).. Hopefully the curve will reflect that? The FRQ was easy though I think, although I didnt do much FRQ practice to compare

edit: using this very conservative estimate (I hope),

would 75/100 correct, and 25/40 on essay = a 5?

haha yeah I think that we're all psyching ourselves out.

I don't think we're nearly making it as bad as we think it was. I mean it wasn't a walk in the park, but collegeboard/AP coordinators don't intend us to know everything on the exam.

They had to throw in some hard ones that not many people would know to figure out the curve/percentages and so forth.

I screwed up. I did every multiple choice problem, guessed some. I probably got them wrong though. I didn't finish the free response. I thought that the questions were too broad.

Um. Please help. I didn't write my AP Number on the pages of the Free Response Booklet that I used. Did the proctor tell you guys to? I forgot. Will this affect my score...?

ttly concur skatj. And I would estimate the same scores on MC/FRQ. This was NOT one of my better ap tests... I remember going thru the MC questions and like skipping every other one cuz I didn't know O__o.

For those who want to calculate your scores, you can use this formula (taken from a book I have - remember, these are just estimates, not the actual scores!)

Multiple Choice:
[(number right) - (number wrong x .25)] x .907 = MC raw score

FreeResponse:
FR points x 1.5 = FR raw score

Now, combine the raw scores from the MC and FR sections to obtain you net raw score. Use these ranges to determine your "grade:"
Raw Score : Approximate AP Score
84 - 150 : 5
65 - 84 : 4
48 - 65 : 3
29 - 48 : 2
0 - 28 : 1

And alot of people are saying that there might be a big curve, so the raw scores for each grade might actually be lower.
