How many were there each day? Did you like the programs? Is there a housing tour?
Thanks for any info…dd going 2/14.

I went on Friday. There were probably a few hundred students there. The program for USBS wasn't very good, but there were only about 20 students signed up for USBS so I doubt they put too much effort into it. There's a housing tour at the end, so you can see into honors dorms. The whole thing was very well done though.

I went on Saturday, and I think it went well, though I don't expect to win anything more, considering both the low odds and my only slightly above-average essay abilities. The two hours we had to write went by quite fast, it seemed, although by the end I had something like a welt from where my pencil pressed against my finger. The food was decent, and the people watching was excellent. Was it just me, or did some of the people there seem to have way-lower-than-average social skills? I was rather amused by the conversations I overheard; smart people can also be incredibly strange people.

I didn't go on the housing tour, but I did go to the fisher school of business program, and I'm glad I did, as I stayed after for a minute to talk to the presenter about the finance program and he, surprisingly, claimed that the finance program there was only strong at the graduate level. It seems l may be switching majors. I was generally unsurprised by everything else, however, and the material they passed out was nearly identical to that distributed on honors day. There weren't very many people there for the business program, and it seemed like >half of the people competing were in the heavy math and science programs, especially engineering.

Has anyone received a call about the presidential one yet?

I was wondering the same thing. The calls were supposed to be placed on Feb 26-27, but I haven't seen anyone on this board post that they or someone they know got a phone call. Anyone have any info?

I believe that those moving on to the Presidential round have received notification, but that may be going through this week.

This coming weekend is interview weekend, with Presidential Scholar candidates interviewing exactly one week from today.

I think the calls were made last Thursday to those who were selected. That's when I received mine and so did some other people I know.

well congrats

Called Admissions at Ohio State last Friday to see what was up. They said that decisions were still being made and be patient. Tough to plan out-of-state travel with only a few days notice. I guess that isn't a problem anymore, or is it? The mystery continues.

dd awarded Medalist Scholarship! Letter arrived March 14....Anyone else with good news?

I got the letter this past Saturday. I'm pretty stoked about getting the scholarship!
