How was your Cal Arts audition?

Anyone care to comment on what they had to do for their CalArts audition this year? In past years it has been reported that breathing exercises, etc. have been done by those who got accepted. Is that the same this go around?

I did the breathing excercise, was given 2 cards, an told to come and shadow. I did shadow and was just rejected today. Honestly, I’m in shock.

cayleyc, Oh I am sorry to hear this. hugs to you. did you get an email telling you? I am surprised to hear this news, too.

Yes. I got an e-mail telling me my admissions decision had been made and to check for it online. It was extremely difficult for me to read as I had SUCH high hopes over the whole process. The judges at my audition could not have been more friendly and really seemed to want to get to know me, as it ended in them asking me to come shadow either in March or the last week in April. Considering decisions would be available before the end of April, I figured I had gotten in. I shadowed LAST weekend and woke up to this e-mail this morning. Disappointed and depressed are understatements but fingers crossed I get in to my 2nd top choice UNCSA!!!

Hey guys, you know this is Marymounts forum?

Cayleyc when and where did you audition? Sorry about not getting in,schools are so confusing on what we think they looking for and how we read them and what the end results end up being.
