How well-meaning teachers hurt students of poor/less educated parents

Fwiw, I am solidly in a camp that would make the use of calculators prohibited before high school.

<p>I agree, but the teachers couldn’t teach, in many cases. Math for many of them falls into the category of magic thinking. (So does spelling.) </p>
