How will a C in Senior year affect my chances

I am applying to the University of CAlifornia, and the deadline is Nov 30. This means that initially they don't see your senior grades. My counseler says that I should be fine as long as I don't get any C-,D, or Fs, and if my grades don't take a huge dive. But I have heard stories of people who got accepted into UCSD or Berkeley but later got told that they couldn't attend because of a C they got in senior year.

I'm asking because I'm in danger of getting a C in calculus BC, and it would be my first C. I have a 3.85 weighted GPA and so far this year all my other grades are As.

Anyone know anything about this?

Not a big deal. A C in arguably the toughest AP during senior year is not going to make or break your app

why would that be harder than Physics C?

ok chill out... i didn't mean to make this into a comparison of AP courses. Does it really matter?

no, i'm just bored :D

It probably won't matter too much but definitely try and pull your grade up if possible. Seek extra help from your teacher or classmates.

sheed30, for me calc is way harder than phys c. right now Im pulling off a relatively easy A in physics and struggling in calc.

Isn't Physics C based off calc though? Maybe it's just schools.

you must have a relatively easy physics teacher, i have the opposite problem of you. physics c is ripping me a new one. my physics teacher always says that calc is just a tool 4 physics...it makes my calc teacher mad... but it is true, newton invented calc to solve physics problems

Actually Newton created Calculus to explain his theories in Physics. I'm having a similar, I'm struggling in Calculus, but I'm doing fine in Physics. In Calc, I can never get the problems, and can only explain them with Physics. It's like my mind is working backwards.
