AP French 4

I know grades are important but so is the course load, which is what I'm refering to with this question.

Hi there!

Your freshman and sophomore schedules seem a bit lax for top schools. How many honors classes are you taking? I’m not condoning a full AP schedule because I know how awful the workload can be, but it might be a good idea for you to take a couple more advanced classes in the field you’re interested in. So maybe French 2 honors (if your school offers it, mine didn’t until 3 and above) and Biology honors might be a place to start.

It seems like you’re going all out on the courseload starting your junior year, which I wouldn’t recommend–you should take an AP class this year if you’re going to do that many the next, just to get an idea of what it’s like. But don’t plan your schedule out for a top school. Rather, try to balance classes that show rigor (so I would try to at least take honors in core subjects) with ones that you’re interested in. And you’re doing a great job on that front by taking cool stuff like baking and mythology and whatnot. I think more people on here should be doing that.

But all in all, pretty solid as long as you balance out the number of AP’s you have each year. Best of luck!

AP French 4 is the only advanced French class offered and I’m not good with biology. Freshman year I couldn’t really take many advanced classes because I had just switched to a new school and putting a schedule together was hectic and it would’ve been worse to try to get into a ton of advanced classes so sadly I only got one. Sophomore year…well when we were signing up for classes I had a reslly bad depression spell and missed the application for advanced english. I heard AP US History was 2+ hours of reading a night and I wasnt ready to handle that. Im not a biology person so I didnt go into AP Bio, and They pulled me out of honors math but Im just not a geometry person so Im trying to get back into honors math and im gonna apply for advanced english for second semester. And then next year Im gonna try to make up for being too easy on myself.
