So my sat scores are cr -640 m - 760 and w - 650. I want to major in mathematics in college. So my question is how will colleges look at my scores. Will they see my combined math + reading score (1400), my overall superstore (2050) or will they consider my score lower than people who got 700s in both cr and math. Basically what I'm asking is how will my 760 in math be seen to a more across the board score like 700 in math and 700 in cr.

what schools are you looking to apply to? and it will depend on the school you are trying to get into with there emphasis on well round applicants! what is your GPA and other stats! that alone for mainly schools is not going to be the only thing they are going to require of you!

Yup I’m applying to a good range of schools from state schools to lacs. My question is not so much what makes a good applicant but more specific to is having a good math score but low other scores better than having a well rounded score when applying for a major like math or accounting?

Hm well it is better to have a well rounded score. All scores at least 700+. Even in math majors and especially in accounting ones you need to demonstrate reasonably good english. However it does depend on the school. UT Austin for example will look at only math and critical reading for accounting majors. But the vast majority of schools including LACs will look at all your scores.

Ok that’s what I thought, my math + reading score was 1400 so it put me in the 75th percentile at most of my schools but I figured that’s not as good as having 700 in each

it all depends on which schools you will apply. obviously, if you want to major in mathematics, your math score will be focused in on.

And also what colleges will take more consideration into my high math score?

Anyone else have advice on this? I will chance back!
