How will football injury impact recruiting?

My S is a senior running back and has contact with a few different schools. He applied for and has been accepted at his #1 choice. The head coach reached out to him inquiring his interest in playing. He responded with his positive interest and the coach told him he will be in contact soon. After his second game my S was ranked #6 for his division in rushing yards. Well, Friday he took a helmet to his knee and we wound up in the ER. Nothing broken, but trainer thinks it is an mcl injury. We arr seeing the team Dr tomorrow and will get an MRI. Of course my S is very nervous. Depending on the injury, his season may be done, but certainly cut short. Obviously, this is going to drop his ranking, if not knocking him out totally. Is it still possible to keep a coach’s interest with only 2 highlight videos? Will this end a coach’s interest in him as a possible prospect for next year? I feel so terrible for him after starting the season out so well.

Thanks for any insight!

Well, if he is already admitted at the school he plans on attending, then I am not sure what your concern is. Just get healthy, get strong and get ready for summer camp next year. It is unlikely that the coach at that school is going to spend a ton of tiMe reevaluating re ruins he already has “on the books”. If you are asking whether it will harm his chances of receiving an offer from schools he is currently talking to but who haven’t offered yet, I am sorry to say that it is likely the injury sets him back with those other schools, especially if he doesn’t return this season.

It turned out to just be a bone bruise so I worried for nothing. Lol. Missed a couple games but thankfully nothing serious!
