How will Wake be for 23 year old transfer?

Hi Guys,

I was wondering how Wake Forest will be for a transfer who is 23 year old Asian male. I come from California from pretty diverse area so that is to take into consideration but I did live in a bubble of white majority as well, which I have no problem with. However, my main concern was my age because I am definitely going to be one of the older students so I don’t want to be perhaps ostracized or meet fewer people in my college career then I would at bigger schools. Some comparable schools I maybe applying are Notre Dame and Georgetown which are 12,000 and 17,000 in terms of population respectively while Wake seems to be around 7,000 which is much less. I’m open to Greek life/clubs or whatever, but I just wanted to see what you guys think.

Thanks!

Where are you transferring from and what are you used to? My experience is that Wake is really, really small. Smaller than I thought it would be. The enrollment is about 7000, but that includes grad students who aren’t on the Reynolda campus (i.e., med school students). The number of undergraduates is closer to 5000. The campus is basically just two quads so you’ll run into people you know all the time. As for being Asian, there’s a large number of them here. It seems like every international student is from China. If you want a diverse school, it’s not your cup of tea but if that doesn’t matter much to you it won’t be a problem.
