<p>At the risk of sounding like a homer, I would say diversity is excellent. Ohio State has made lists of “most friendly” campuses in recent years for Hispanics, African-Americans and gays. </p>
<p>The university also has done a very good job at maintaining a good deal of socio-economic diversity. 22% of recent freshman classes have been first generation college students, which is very high for a public university with its admissions selectivity. Also, the percentage of students coming from families with incomes less than $100K is lower than the national average for “selective public universities.”</p>
