How would you structure your SAT essay?

The hardest part for me is knowing how to structure the essay, such as how many paragraphs and how many sentences per paragraph.

I was thinking about this.

Paragraph 1: 3 sentences, including the thesis statement
Paragraph 2: Example supporting thesis statement, 5 sentences.
Paragraph 3: Example supporting thesis statement, 5 sentences.
Paragraph 4: Example against thesis statement, 5 sentences (it will also fight the non-supporting example).
Paragraph 5: Conclusion. Restate thesis statement and 4 sentences.

I was hoping that would work out to get me a 10~12.

What score did you get and what layout did you use?

Two 12s, didn’t have a planned structure/layout either time. Used one example in January and two in March.

Jersey13, you’re just perfect!

^ My point is that you don’t need to have a set structure for your essay going into the test.

What did you write in those essays that gave you the 12 though.
