I was recently accepted to both Howard University, and UNC Chapel hill. I was given a full scholarship to Howard and have not yet received any type of financial info for Chapel Hill, but I'm sure it will soon arrive. Although finances aren't that much of a factor, something is better than nothing. Both of these are my DREAM schools, but now I'm torn and unsure which is best. I do know that UNC is ranked #5 when it comes to Public Universities in the US, but Howard is the #2 HBCU in the country. My question is, which is the better option? And which degree would hold more weight? (I intend to major in economics)

UNC, without a doubt.

Another vote for UNC. Don’t even have to think hard about it.

Are you a NC resident? If you pay resident tuition, UNC is one of the best educational values in the country.

UNC-third vote. No brainer.

UNC-Chapel Hill is in a completely different league than Howard. If money was an issue, and you had a choice of full pay at UNC or full scholarship at Howard, than you might want to consider Howard. However if finances are not an issue than your clear best choice is UNC. Great campus, academics and reputation. Congratulations!

Agree, UNC is the better choice.

I went to Howard, undergrad and med school, and LOVED it, but unless you will really appreciate the HBCU experience, I’d have to vote for UNC too.
