I got waitlisted…
what were your stats? Are you an international student?
I’m a NY student. I got 1100 on SATs, 14 extracurriculars and a 87 gpa unweighted. My school doesnt give us a weighted. 24 for ACT.
I also gave them a cover letter and resume when I didnt even have to. I got waitlisted due to the limited space. I’d like to think they’re accepting the highest students first and that they don’t want to let me go. I put in so much work for this school.
WOW, they’ve just now told me they never received my transcript, and now I’ve been bumped to regular decision. I’m so very angry.
Keep the hope up, give it some time, I believe that is the case. Your stats look fine, you should be getting in, stay confident for sure. you will get in
Rejected.
@Tishannax I got waitlisted as well. International student. Sigh…
We have to be confident that they have a spot waiting for us. We waitlists gotta stick together lol :))
My daughter got her acceptance at 4:18am!
ACCEPTED!
I received the email at 12:28 AM on December 16th
Accepted! 3:49 am
@Nicholas Massenburg how did you find out you were bumped to regular decision? It is really too bad you wouldn’t have been informed you were missing a transcripts prior to decision time. My daughter is also waiting her decision, it is really disheartening when kids are anxiously awaiting a decision that was advertising as coming out on 12/15 and there is no additional information communicated that it may not happen on 12/15. This leaves a bad impression.
@nanamama did your daughter ever get a decision?
Congrats to y’all !
DD accepted, came in after 2am central time. Now we wait for financial offer. Email says it will mail in January.
DD applied based on last years merit offerings then the details on the offerings were removed from the website. So, we wait as sticker price is not in her budget and she has been awarded tuition/housing elsewhere. Howard has the urban location she is seeking as well as being a LAC.
We will wait and see…this schools communication does not impress.
Yes! Thank you for asking. She was accepted. I hope all is well with you too.
@nanamama good to hear. We still have not heard yet, but I did call the admissions office and they indicated decisions are still being released, they started on 12/15 and are still going on. I was concerned she may have gotten bump to RD but they did confirm she was considered for EA. Thanks for asking.
Oh my, ongoing - Are there other parents that find the inability to stick to a published deadline, to be a snapshot of what to expect in regards to timeliness going forward?
Perhaps I have high expectations but I remember reading a lot of chatter here last spring about all the “delays” in letting kids know about acceptance, scholarships, financial aid, classes and housing. This does not bode well and makes me very nervous
@SnowflakeDogMom yes I feel the same way! This makes me very nervous and skeptical about sending my daughter there. I don’t like dealing with unknowns, delays, changes in decisions, etc.
I’m taking a very cautious wait and see attitude.
