I was wondering how generous Northwestern is with financial aid. Probably not as great as the ivies, but since I am planning on going to med school, I would like to rack up as little debt as possible from my undergraduate education. Anyone who can help? Thanks!

Right, it's not as great as the Ivy's, unfortunately. I think if your family income is between 60K and 120K, the average aid package is about $22,000 (give or take a thousand or two); so it covers about 40-50% of the total cost, not like the ivy's great aid packages, but it's better than nothing

Northwestern isn't exactly known for its financial aid packages...

Thanks guys. Anyone else?

ITS AWFUL. but worth it

Yeah, pretty much what juicy08 said: not fantastic, but well worth the cost

Yeah, I've often heard NW's fin. aid sucks. I'd seriously consider going there if I could afford it.

I don't think its that bad. NU offered to cover everything with grants for me except for my EFC and work study.

wait sainclaire, you got your financial aid? snail mail?

Yeah, its on my CAESAR too.

oh. hm when did you get it?

Wow, I just checked and the fin aid package was on CAESAR, and I'm still waiting for the hard copy of that. Thanks for the heads up sainclaire.
