^^^^^^^^^^

i just got off the stuff (halo3)....when i started i was a complete newb (no gaming history/experience)...sooo it took me a while to get my 41...i am satisfied with that lol

Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl anybody? Any wavedashing going on at Cornell?

lol L4D is awesome.... would love to play some FPS's with some of you ^^

i hate physics too.

Lololololol

There's something once a week @ Appel Commons called the "procrastination station" where they have two big screen tvs and a bunch of games and consoles to play with for free including rock band among others.

Cornell competition is not that good in Halo 3. I get better competition on Xbox live than I do from anyone at cornell I know that plays Halo 3. I don't really care because they are fun to play with but they consider me a Halo god and I'm not even that good at Halo 3 (Only a 46 in TS, and that's my highest) compared to players on Live.

Big thing on campus seems to be DOTA. Some people have gotten hooked on it so much that they were failing their classes.

if people are bringing 360s and stuff, are they also bringing tv's to hook up in their dorms?

Also, does anybody know how much internet xbox live uses up cuz I have no idea...like how many mb does 1 match of halo take up for example, even just a ballpark figure would be nice

Wow, the fact that Dota is big on campus makes me want to come even more! I am a huge Dota player and would love to play with more people!

lol battlecruiser... "only a 46".. i assume you're aware 50 is the highest?! I play on XBL when im at home b/c its my brother's console- i have been at it quite a bit this break. i thought i was getting pretty damn good when i finally got up to 43 in TS. there are some sick gamers on XBL, but anyone with a 46 is in the top 10 percentile of players i'd say...

woow i can't believe how nerdy this post is getting... to sum up.. plenty of gamers... if you halo it, you'll be sick here, as there aren't many xbox'ers

I was a very big Halo 2 player when that came out, but that was because people were playing at my school. I started playing Halo 3 (only a 43 in Lone Wolves), but barely anyone I know plays, so I don't play nearly as much.

Jocer, I have a 24" lcd monitor that I hook my 360 to (and my desktop too). Only weighs like 15 pounds, so it is easy to ship, and it even has component hook ups on it. For normal monitors with only vga/dvi, it would be easy to get the VGA cable for the 360 and connect it to separate speakers, or just a small lcd tv would work. Even though my monitor supports 1080p it still doesn't look near as good as it does on my 51" in 1080i that I normally play on, but still looks far better than non HD and is pretty huge when your head is only three feet from the screen.

My xbox is modded though and I have a ton of games, but don't play on live. Don't have enough time to beat them on single to worry about going online.

ahem Just going to go off on a tangent here about halo 3 and its leveling system.
< start tangent>
Halo 3's leveling system, in my opinion, is a complete joke and does not measure skill at all. Basically, if you just play enough games and manage maybe a 50/50 win lose ratio, your rank will get up into the 40's, anyone can achieve that if they just play a lot of games. I had halo 3, I experienced it. I also did have and play halo 2 on xbox live way back when, and that actually had a good ranking system (until bungie released an update and made it similar to halo 3's current system). Early on, halo 2's ranking system really was based on how many games you won, and just playing a s**tload of games wouldn't get you up high into the 40's.

I'm more of a GoW2 / CoD player, but I used to play halo 2 24/7, but I ********* HATE HALO 3...ehehhe

When I go to cornell in Aug, hopefully we can organize some weekly lan battles soon...this should be a lot of fun.

Glad to know there's gamers here!

Reason I say only a 46 is for several reasons. One, the ranking system in H3 is really stupid. Experience number plays a large part, so the more you play, the harder it is to rank up. That's why it is so common to see new accounts with 50s. I could have a 50 if I had a new account, but regardless, I don't consider myself good at this game compared to how good I was at H2 or at CoD 4. My K/D is only a little above 1. In H2, which I played a lot, I was probably ranked in the top 500 in TS if you excluded the modders.

Back on topic, I've also seen a bit of GoW 2 and FIFA being played.
