How's the music department??

I've been reading the site trying to pry information out of it, but I want an INSIDE SCOOP of the operations of Emory's music department. I am definitely applying to Emory, but unfortunately, I can't visit because I'm from PA! (I did request a video though)

How is the orchestra (I am an oboist, so if I get in, I'll be tuning it :] )? How are the practice rooms (well-lit? comfortable? good music stands? able to be in there for 5 hours without dying?)? What brand are the pianos? How many? Grand? Baby-grand? Up-right? Are they tuned regularly (I have perfect pitch, so out of tuned pianos make it hard for me to practice :[)? How are the teachers? Is the music community very tight-knit at Emory?

I'm so sorry for my barrage of questions, but I just really want to know!
And thanks in advance to anyone who answers!!

I'm sorry I cannot give you DETAILED information about it, but I recommend visiting the music department website which you can find by typing in google "music emory"

All I know is that our music department is amazing, we got a bunch of pianos from which u can practice on. (As a music student you get 24 hr access to the music place)

And don't worry about getting crappy piano's since we pay enough to get quality instruments ^^

Schwartz music center is only a few years old and absolutely beautiful... there are plenty of musical resources available

Emorys music program is not excellent, but it is good. About ten years ago, it was small and mediocre, and emory is working on it, which is always good, but it is nothing special compared to some other schools. I have played in the EYSO, Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the conductor himself tells me that emory is trying to be very good in this area, but has significant room for improvement.
