Thats cool though that you're able to compete in both varsity and novice divisions. Novice is just going to look much easier now that you went against varsity, and the experience you picked up at your varsity state tournament is going to help out a lot.
Try to squeeze in a debate camp in your summer schedule. If you're into debate, they go far beyond what might be available at your school. In any case, you'll get a new perspective on approaching issues and additional personalized coaching on your style.

1) Make sure you do well on tests.
2) Start a club or lead your ECs
3) Add to the number of reach and match the schools you are applying to. Many Ivies and the like actually do better with finance placement than the best undergrad business schools.

AKittka is right, enjoy your high school years and don't worry about college so much at the moment. Just keep up the good work and by Junior year you'll be well on your way for the schools you mentioned. Good luck. Lambda.

Just be careful and don't burnout by Junior year. You'd be surprised how many people lose their motivation. Oh, and when you apply -- do apply to safeties you want to go to. You don't want to end up in the situation where everyone else has gotten into colleges, and you're still like "I REALLY HOPE I GET INTO ONE OF MY IVIES." It's a crapshoot. Don't risk it too much.

Yeahh, I'm actually only interested in 2 ivies. I'm not into the whole HYP thing.

And I'm definately going to apply to at least 3 safties because throughout my brothers process of applying to colleges ive heard so many stories of his friends not getting in anywhere because they were too confident and didn't get in anywhere.

wow when i was a freshman, i didnt even know there was a debate team...in fact i was worrying over where the hell my speech class was :)

you will be fine but seeing the ppl that get in to college with ease now, try picking up some hobby and really excelling at it...like winning competitions and expressing passion etc.

and by the way...if you are like most people your ideal college will change as you go through high school...i think

Hmm...some suggestions for your ec's. Most people change their mind as to what career they want to pursue during High School. My opionion would be to add some other stuff to your ec's, including doing some medical research and shadowing a doctor with volunteer at the hospital. This way, you learn about other fields as well as getting some more ec's, and who knows, maybe you'll become a doctor.
