Next Year's Schedule already made :

Algebra II Honors

*=This class is through the academy of finance which is a 3 year program in which I take financial classes. Senior year, I get an internship through a financial corporation through the program. I also gain admission to DECA through Academy of Finance.

**It is most likely (80%) that junior summer, I will get an internship dealing with the stock market because my uncle is HUGE on wall street per se, and he got my brother one when he was in high school, so I'm assuming I can get one.

bumppppppp..

So long as you continue to do well academically, you will be helping to open up more college opportunities. Try to attend a pre-college summer program at Harvard, Stanford, Brown or Penn. They are expensive, but Harvard, Brown & Stanford offer financial aid. I don't know about Penn, but do not recommend Penn until you are much older since it is an urban campus.

icy, this is irrevllaevent to UPenn ( i apologize) but do you know of any summer programs that offer pre calc as a course so that i can go strait to calc in junior year?

although its early, you look good.
i got into wharton '12 with less than stellar stats - the biggest piece of advice i can give you is pick and choose a few activities and run with them, its quality over quantity. also, find a way to demonstrate passion for business. and a 4.0 2400 won't hurt either
good luck

sorry but if you are a freshman then i don't think you should be allowed to make this topic. seriously what is wrong with you. worry senior year. not all 4 years.

^ agree.

maybe you should start getting a life and stop worrying about college.
seriously, do what you're interested in, be involved and work hard.
but most importantly, enjoy your high school time! being a teenager is a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity.

for both of you. i actually do have a life and could care less what online people
think about me. and im not "worrying" about it. i have a bro in college so im really familiar with the college admissions process and how competitive it is so im just trying to start getting good grades and joining clubs early. i actually really do enjoy high school. and freetense you really need to calm down.

^thats really bad advice. start worrying my senior year? thats ridiculous. and i shouldn't be allowed to make this topic because im s freshman? wow, so because i want to know if im heading in the right path towards college and im 1 quarter away from being a sophomore i can't make this topic? get a grip kid and if you dont have anything nice to say just click the back button this thread isnt meant for uptight people like you.

^ haha power to ya Courtney8.

thank you. love those people who get pleasure out of being rude to others online for no reason.

Courtney: I believe that all of the pre-college summer programs offer pre-calculus as a course option. Cornell University also offers pre-college summer sessions. More info. is probably available under the prep school headings for summer programs.

it's because it's easier to be rude online than in person...most people wouldn't have the guts to say some of things they say on here if it were in person.

exactly. people who say rude things to other people are just insecure about themselves.

^ very wise for a high school freshman.

speak your mind and dont take s h it from no one! you`re accepted

haha thank you 45 Percenter and dlesk

yo i wasn't trying to be rude. i just think you shouldn't be asking about your chances and the path you should take at this point in your life. and you shouldn't say you don't care what people online think. . .it's what you would like to believe, but then you made this topic, no? you took the time to list every activity and every class you're in, so it's clear that you are "worrying" to an extent. I don't mean sweating and throwing up every night, but it's still on your mind. by all means, think about college, but uh. . .not too much? if you get to wharton you won't be able to ever enjoy life again, so do so while you are in high school

there's really no advice to give except take the hardest courses you can take and do well in them, and be active in productive things that you enjoy.

bummmmmmppppppp

I'm pretty sure courtney8 is smart enough to know all of that already. it's common sense.

lol courtney your school sounds a lot like mine. So does your stats: I'm in DECA, MAO, and I go to a school in Florida...etc, cept i got a B+ in AP environ sci freshman year which screwed up my GPA. Also how do you have a 4.87 weighted??? thats pretty much impossible for a freshman unless you have like 4 AP classes or something.

Yeah I'm a junior and I'm applying to Penn this year but I didn't know a thing about colleges until last year, and still that knowledge was minimum. I think its great that you have your goals. good luck!

btw are you going to state next week?

one more thing, Mu Alpha Theta is pretty much ONLY strong and well known in Florida. Other states are generally not as good or do bigger and better things than MAO. So don't expect by being just on the team and winning trophies or w/e will help you significantly. If you really want to do a significant math competition do the AMC and qualify for the AIME or even harder USAMO (only 3 or so in Florida this year) if you can.
