i do love to study haha, but hows the parties, GIRLS, and places to go?

Salmon. Salmon, he wrote.

I have a similar question. How basketball-crazy does Wake Forest get? Is it a big deal like at Duke or UNC? I know they TP the quad, but I'm assuming they don't tent out for tickets like Duke students do???

oooohhh.... someone hasn't visited the campus. Seriously, it's madness. I'd say 80% of the freshman class is obsessed with basketball. Perhaps 50% of all the students. I'm not a statistic, though. Not too basketball crazy...

I did so visit!
I was advised to join the Screaming Deacons (?) in order to get into all the games. I was just wondering how crazy Wake did get. Thanks for the input. I guess I'm a statistic, although I wouldn't call it obsessed... :)

From what I've been told, about 50% of the student body, or something like that, are Screaming Deacons. I think the deal with that is that you get pretty good seats at all the games, but you have to wear this (reasonably ugly) shirt and go to every game. Which isn't such a bad deal.

I think it's "Screamin' Demons," not Deacons.

I looked it up, Craigory, and... that's so weird. You're right, according to pretty much every actual Wake Forest web site, but I seriously have never heard it called Demons rather than Deacons by anyone--applicants, students, or alumni--so that is incredibly weird. Oh, well!

I've never been sure which it was. I've heard it both ways. But yeah, we're pretty basketball crazy. I am also not a statistic, and so I'm not the best person to talk about it, but I would say that if you want to go to all the games (or even all the ACC games) you should definitely be a Screamin' Demon/Deacon. If, however, you've got a rivalry with a specific school and only want to go to that game, you can probably manage to get tickets to it without being an SD. My roommate had no problem getting someone's pass to the Carolina game, and it was on a Saturday. If the game's on a weekday, someone will undoubtedly have lab during that time or will have a major paper due the next day or something, and you'll get to go. Just keep your ear to the ground, and you'll find someone who wants to give away their pass. The SD's can only miss two games (?) a season, and so the people who can't make it to a game are always looking for someone to take their spot.
