I asked the same question on the Rice thread regarding weather in Houston. I'm not a fan of hot weather...

How is Atlanta? Really hot? Bearably hot? Humid?

Can you fry an egg on the sidewalk in the middle of the summer?

Thanks!

It's humid AND HOT during the summer but freezing cold (in my opinion) during the winters. I haven't tried the egg experiment but I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen... But luckily for you, you'll be at Emory starting Aug 20ish when things start cooling down... and who knows, we might get snow like last year.

Emory is hot in the summer but I've been here all summer doing research and it really hasn't been that bad. I would really doubt that you could fry and egg.
Like wogus said, the parts of the year that most students are here is ideal weather. It's not very hot for long when people arrive at the end of August, starts to cool off at the end of September, and winter begins in November. Many people from the North say that Southerners complain about the cold but I don't think it's bad (seeing as we only had 2-3 days of snow last year). In the Spring, Atlanta is very nice until after students go home in early may.
