When are you booking your flights? For August 26th or August 27th? I haven't received much information regarding this.

Andrew, move in depends on which dorm you are assigned:

Friday, August 26, 2005
Move-in for first-year and transfer students assigned to Harbin, Darnall, Kennedy, McCarthy and Reynolds hall. Students may arrive between 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Keys will be distributed from the Residence Hall Office until 11 pm.

Saturday, August 27, 2005
Move-in for first-year and transfer students assigned to New South, Village C, Village A and Henle. Students may check in between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Keys will be distributed from the Residence Hall Office of the building you are assigned.

Sunday, August 28, 2005
All returning students may return to campus. Keys will be distributed from the Residence Hall Office of the building you are assigned between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm.

Hope this helps!

Thanks redr002! Where was that information?

// EDIT: Never mind. Found it on the housing site. Thanks!

I booked my flight for the 23rd, and am staying with family friends. I need to go shopping, mainly for a semi-decent winter coat, and secondly for all those dorm incidentals that I don't feel like packing in a box only to get ripped open and destroyed by the TSA at the San Diego airport.

So I move in on the 26th!

I am from the bay area. I'm flying into BWI (1 hour away) on Southwest with my parents on the 26th. There is a shuttle that goes to Georgetown from BWI but we are renting a car. Hurray for free Southwest rewards flights!

Go to beth bath and beyond by your house select everything yu will need. They will send the order to DC(actually VA) store and they will have it ready for yu when you arrive you just pick up your package and go. It is called pack & go

What are you guys packing in terms of in-flight luggage? What are you going to ship/buy?

I shipped light things, or things that I would not use right away: some photos, scarves, pillows, sheets, and other random things like old unused office supplies which would be useful.

In-Flight I'm bringing the heavy stuff, useful books, dictionaries, and of course all my clothes and such.

And as far as stuff I'm buying there, it'll all be toiletries and things like laundry soap and aspirin.
