For the class of 2013 members who have already set up a Harvard e-mail account, how long was the time between the moment you created your pin and the moment you were able to create a Harvard e-mail account?

I've already got my pin (on April 14, a little past midnight)...three days later (today), I still cannot activate my Harvard e-mail. I know my pin works because I've tried it on other Harvard password protected pages and it goes through.

you need to wait at least 5 business days before you can set up your @college account and your FAS Resources account. i mean 5 business days after you receive a confirmation of your pin activation.

Well, after accepting, I manually set up my HUID. After that, I had to wait about 3.5 days before the HUID would go through with my Harvard e-mail.

I can’t believe it took me 14 days before I accepted Harvard’s offer to matriculate. It would have been sooner if my dad had not annoyed me so much about attending Harvard solely because “it’s the best university in the world”…didn’t want to hear all that nonsense so to spite him, I put off accepting Harvard’s offer and taunted him with accepting William’s. But, ha! The Harvard e-mail thingy and joining their network on facebook was just too tempting so I gave in much earlier than I had planned. My dad still doesn’t know, and I’ll keep him there, too. lol…sorry, went off topic.

did you guys just keep checking to see if the HUID/PIN combo worked on the email creation notice? or does harvard send you a notice once you’re ok to set the email up?

Read through your admissions packet - the “things to do” folder and the sheet of paper titled “Get Connected with Computing @ Harvard”.
By the way, read through your packet carefully, the instructions and information are quite clear - and much simpler that you’ll find at cc forum. Also, there are a lot of deadlines there, June 1st being one of them. Good luck
