I was wondering if there's anyone out there who can give me some insight about majoring in arts and the humanities at Fordham. I know that Fordham is very strong in business and finance (which makes sense since it's in NYC), so I was wondering if kids that major in the humanities feel out of place.

My sister wants to major in English Lit to become a college professor. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

My D is a sophomore, majoring in Art History. She has had small classes and likes the professors that she has had. Her professors have been approachable and have been helpful when she needed advice, recommendations, etc. She will be interning at a prestigious museum this summer. An art history major that she knows who is graduating was accepted into a top graduate program. Her roommate is an English major and has enjoyed her classes.

Each year, there are about 400 students who enroll in the business school, over 1000 who enroll in FCRH (non business majors) and about 450 who enroll in FCLC (non business majors) so the majority of students on campus major in non business subjects.

I don’t think that non business majors feel out of place at all. Almost all of my D’s friends are majoring in subjects other than business. My D feels, and from what we see and hear about what she is learning, that Fordham is a great place to study humanities.

Pretty much everyone who isn’t studying business/finance at Fordham is doing liberal arts. If you asked 10 people what their major is at RH, I’d say 6 or 7 would say something in the liberal arts. At LC it’d be 9/10. Your sister would be fine there.
