Onerous or not?
What do you HAVE to take in the way of writing classes?
Can you take performance music classes for full credit, or partial credit? Do they apply toward the humanities requirements?

I’m reasonably sure that everything below is correct…

General Humanities and Social Sciences Requirements:

6 classes total
- at least 2 in humanities
- at least 2 in social sciences
-
- (Note that some classes are listed as both humanities and social sciences. You are only allowed to apply these classes towards one of the above 2 requirements.)
- at least 1 must be “communications intensive”
-
- (Note that there are plenty of classes with this designation that are not ‘writing’ classes. For example, Introduction to Cognitive Science.)

Other humanities-based requirements:
- 1 Communications Intensive course in each of the student’s major(s)
-
- (Note that most majors have a course with this designation in their core curriculum, so this requirement is pretty neglibigle).

Performance music classes do indeed count towards your humanities requirements.
