I already know of TASP, and JSA, but what are some other good, reputable summer programs (especially for Juniors) related to humanities, politics, history, international politics, etc. If you had any experiences with the program, or know someone who did, then please share.

Boston College has a program called Boston College Experience. My son decided that if he was going to go someplace, take classes and work hard, he wanted to get credit for it. So, last summer he opted for the BCE. The application involves a transcript and recommendation from your guidance counselor, I believe. Essentially, you're enrolled as a student taking college classes during the summer at Boston College. My son took a polisci class and a history class (Rise & Rule of Islamic States and The Presidency Challenged). He loved it. Lived in the dorm, ate at the dining halls, studied in the library, the whole bit. BCE participants are spread between a couple of dorms, but they don't mix them in dorms with other Boston College students. This program is just for rising high school seniors. Anyway, my son liked the extensive choice of courses (when compared to similar programs at Vanderbilt and Wash U). The BCE office sets up several events just for the BCE participants, and Boston College is right at the transit line so students can go into the city, to the museums, whatever. Only restriction placed on BCE participants is that they 'sign-in' to a logbook when they are back in the dorm for the night. Other than that, they're on their own. The credits are, of course, full college credits and you'll be in classes with college students. My son was able to transfer his credits to Emory University when he started as a freshman this fall, and he got a terrific recommendation from his polisci professor for his admissions application to Emory. Good luck!
