Politics, IR, Law, Humanities

For someone whose interests lie strongly in International Relations, Politics, Economics, Law, Philosophy, Statistics, History and the Humanities as a whole, what would be some great summer programs that explore one (or more!) of these subjects?
I ask because most programs discussed in this forum tend to refer to math/science research.
At school I participate in debate, mock trial, Model UN, Youth Leg., and a variety of other activities in case that is necessary for you to suggest a camp!
Thanks :)

Yeah I would really like to know as well!! I’ll be a sophomore next year!

My daughter had a great time doing the CTY 21st Century Global Issues at Princeton. She did the course on International Human Rights and Social Justice. It was an incredibly informative yet fun summer and she has held forth on the subject, in challenging settings, since.

The summer after your junior year you can be sponsored by your American Legion Auxiliary to go to Girls State. It’s a week-long camp that focused on local and state government and Americanism. It’s a lot of fun, and two girls from each state are picked to go to Girls Nation, which is also an amazing experience. :)

I highly, highly recommend TASP for those interested in the humanities, though the program’s relevance to your specific topics of interest is highly dependent on the seminars, which change from year to year. Even if the seminars aren’t perfectly aligned with your topic of interest, I’d still encourage you to apply!

I’ve also heard that Ivy Scholars is a good program - definitely easier to get into than TASP, but still very interesting and informative (from what a friend who attended has told me). Also, the Global Leaders program sounds well-aligned with your topic of interest.

I second the recommendation of Girls State. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me; I learned so much about government and it looks great on college apps. It really is an amazing program.

hey mathdork!
