Humanities?

I really like Case, but how is the Humanities program there?

From everything I've seen and read, Case seems to be very engineering/math intensive and I'm most likely going to major in English or something similar. I'm a little afraid I'd feel kind of left out in this major if I went there.

Can any current students speak to this?

I can't really say too much much about the quality of humanities at Case. However, my suitemate is an English major and seems to like it very much. Since there aren't that many humanities students around here, the classes are very personal, professors are easy to talk to, etc...

What about Economics- does case western have a good economics program and opportunities like internships for economics majors?

I don't think Case's humanities are that great. However, I have taken two classes in the English department as well as a SAGEs with an English professor and I thought they were all good classes. I think SAGEs is one of the problems with the English department: the English department took a hit in terms of strength because of SAGEs.

I'm a second year Econ major. I like the department, there are a lot of teachers that have been here for a while. There are a lot of smart intelligent teachers. Furthermore it's one of the few departments that seems to have stability. In terms of internships, I don't know. I haven't really looked through the school because I don't want to be in the Cleveland area.

sachmoney, most schools will help you arrange internships nationally, at least I know Wash U gives its kids a book and it has a section for each area of the country.

Yeah, I have to go to the career center this week to do that...
