Hurricane Irene is Serious Chiz!!!

Lately, everyone has been talking about Hurricane Irene and how its gonna hit the East Coast pretty badly since it led to major damage in the Caribbean. Since Im in Irene's path (less than 50 miles from NYC), I am deeply concerned because i dont wanna put myself and my family in risk if it becomes a catagory 4 (and according to meterologists its quite possible). But lately my family and my friends and classmates are acting as if its just another strom cuz we're mainland (I even heard some people are heading to the jersey shore =O Therefore, is it just me or are people arent taking this seriously in the tristate area or in general?

you’re right. I have a friend living in Manhattan and her area wasn’t really affected. She didn’t seem to take it too seriously when we spoke about it. I think you should follow your instincts and do what you think is best to protect yourself and your family. Better safe than sorry. Irene seems to be really unpredictable and can take a turn for the worse at any moment. Stay safe.
