It just started raining here in maryland and the rain is really bad, we still have power though, KOW. Also, no school mon. or tues.

I think that 1 in 6 households out of the ENTIRE New England and eastern seaboard are going to lose power.
I’m going to charge my phone.

Our power went off Monday about five and came on early this afternoon thanks to some nice guys from Knoxville, Tennessee. Thank you Knoxville. We escaped most of the really bad damage, but a tree did fall on a neighbor’s house Monday before the winds really blew in.

Our power is out and will most likely be out for another 7-10 days. School was canceled this week and probably next week as well…

In NYC too. Schools were cancelled this entire week, which is amazing because they’re notoriously reluctant to cancel even if weather is really severe. And plus we have election day (tuesday) off too!

Had no school for one week and next week is fall break. It was okay for considering how others were effected I.e fires, flooding
I would never last in the wild, I dies during the two days I didn’t have electricity

Not to mention there’s another storm coming on Wednesday. It’s not as bad as Sandy, but it’s not going to speed up the relief effort.

Surprisingly they’ve already restored about 80% of the subway lines. The next big thing is going to be dealing with the gas shortage throughout the city.
