Any specific accomplishments in those clubs? Anyone can be the president of any club. It’s what you do in that club that matters. If you are the president of acadec and don’t even go to or win anything at any of the competitions, then your title is meaningless.

My math team placed 1st in the city.
French like 17th? I guess? Well it’s like the french competition and I placed 17th in the state.
Acdec. 3rd in Super Quiz. Like 8th in the competition?

And the people I tutor usually jump from a C to a High B or A’s

My Rank is 1st in a class of 350ish?
I’m asian.
My school is a pretty bad school, I guess. Well it’s NOT a bad school. It’s been serotype that way…

ANd my clubs aren’t really random. I try for all clubs and when I enjoy it, I sign for leadership.

And I’m thinkking of retaking my history and french. I took those when I had to flu and I really felt crappy.

Also I want to say, I am really looking into Princeton and COlumbia. Not really the others. Like I would love to go to the others, but they aren’t my top-priority schools.

** ALso I forgot to say this. I am a National Merit Semifinalist. WIll it cancel out the bad SAT And AP scores? /: And I self study about 5 of the 13 AP tests I took

For an asian, you seem to be on the weaker side in terms of academic accomplishment (awards). You don’t really seem to have a passion and don’t seem to have any involvement in activities outside of school/service. And it seems like your summers are empty. The only thing that seems to stand out is the number of club presidencies which seems more like resum

Well I live in a place where most people go to n-state or drop out? Will that help?

And yeah. How can I gain awards and etc to let me have a higher chance? I’m a senior (incoming). So I think I still have time. I also jumped a grade. If that helps?

Going to a worse school will not hurt or help. If anything, it hurts because it provides you less opportunity to succeed. At this point there’s not much you can do except accel in your essays.

You will have chances if you have a story to tell (extreme hardship…) or semi-hooks (low income or first generation…).

I had seen many Asians (from my HS and surrounding HS) with 2350+, 3.95+ (extreme rigor), 35+ and multiple 800s on SAT IIs and infinite number of 5s on APs.
And, national recognitions and very unique ECs.

None of the Asian male with great academic credentials got into HYPSMC (Cal Tech).

Asians who got into HYPSMC (C for Caltech) are
Low income first generation kid with similar stat as yours
