UCLA continues to receive more applications for admission than we can accommodate in our freshman class. For fall 2010, we received more than 57,000 applications for 4,690 available spaces for freshmen.</p>

<p>^ you are ignorant so please stop making random accusations. UCLA (as with every other university) accepts more people than spots KNOWING that many will opt out of going to the university. They usually accept a little over double the amount, sometimes even tripple the amount. Therefore a roughly 20% acceptance rate sounds much more accurate.</p>

<p>… I always thought UCLA was the same size as UMich-AA (which I thought was roughly 10K per year but now I doubt that as well)</p>

<p>it kind of irritates me. people who’ve had worse stats than me somehow got in. i’m asian, which hurts, but i’ve got good grades and i’m a varsity volleyball player.</p>

<p>what i’ve noticed is most of the kids who got into ucla at my school play instruments.</p>
