Since you are studying at a university in Europe, you will be a transfer applicant. You will need to send copies of your university records when you apply. You might need to have them translated. One company that does that is [World Education Services - International Education Intelligence](http://www.wes.org/) You will need to take the TOEFL exam. [TOEFL: Home](The TOEFL Tests) Some colleges and universities in the US will also want you to send copies of your secondary school records, and will ask for ACT, SAT, or SAT Subject exam scores. You need to find out what each college or university wants.

i really apprepriate ur comprehensive message.

why am i a transfer student if i choose different majors and not those i studied in my university
and if i want to learn from first year in american college i am still known as transfer student?

how can american universitys know if i studied here?because i dont want to send my university grades.they are low because i studied sat during these years.

amherst wrote me that it didnt have any meaning if i had passed some classed in university!
if i want to attend as freshman i will be able to do it.

Each college and university sets its own policy about transfer admission.

Some will consider you a transfer if you have taken one university level class after you finish high school. Some will consider you a freshman if you have taken some classes, but not a full year. You will have a full year of classes, so it will be almost impossible for you to apply as a freshman. You may have misunderstood the information that you received from Amherst.

“It doesn’t matter how many university courses you complete before applying to Amherst College. If you decide to forfeit all of your university credit, you can apply as a First Year student. If you want Amherst to accept and of your university credit, you must apply as a Transfer Applicant and you must have earned sufficient credit that Amherst College will accept for transfer to make you eligible for 2nd year status at Amherst College. The choice of whether to apply First Year or as Transfer is your choice”

maybe its unclear in most colleges about international transfer students because there are numerous universities, some have weight and some lacks it.

or i dont know.maybe it will be best idea if i write all other colleges in same manner.

Your age will not be an issue at all. There are incoming freshmen who in their 30s or 40s even. The only difference would be the latitude you have with respect to housing.
