I am a Uruguayan student athlete looking for some good colleges that could fit me

I have received some mails of different universities showing their interest but the thing isn’t that I don’t know which university I should choose, the thing is that I really do not know which university I should aim for. Because of that, I would like you to give me advise about which universites could fit me better. Here is my information:

Soccer student athlete (here is the link of one of my videos https://youtu.be/5fyo-UPjUdY) you can also watch my other videos in my YouTube channel.

I need an almost complete scholarship.

My SAT score: 650 (math) + 600 (cr) + 600 (w) =1850

Toefl ibt: 100

I do not know my Gpa because in uruguay we do not use it but I am pretty sure that I am above average, some kind of B+ or something like that.

Preferences:

Middle to big universities or colleges.

In a big city or near the coast.

I will have to live on the campus dorms so I would need dorms availability.

The universities that have contacted me are the followings:
UAB, NJIT, Bryant, St Mary’s College, north Greenville U, Ohis valley U, waldorf college, and U of mount olive.

Thank you!!

Be aware that many US universities send out “interest” letters to anyone who takes the SAT/ACT and checks off that they would like colleges to contact them. It does not necessarily mean that you are a fit for the school or that your testing and grades qualify you for the school. I glanced at your soccer video and can see that you have good skills. Do you think you are at a level that you might be able to play soccer in college, and if so, do you even want to play college soccer? If you are really interested in attending school here, don’t limit yourself to the schools that are contacting you.

Your test scores/GPA are good but probably not good enough for a huge scholarship. If you are interested in playing soccer, only NCAA Div. 1 & 2 schools can offer athletic scholarships, along with NAIA schools. I don’t know how international recruitment works- I think it is often through a coach that has connections with an international team. Use the “Find a School” tab at the top of this page to narrow down our choices. If you want to play soccer, go to each school’s website and fill in the athletic recruit questionnaire, and send each coach your video. Follow up with emails or phone calls. Good luck!

Of the colleges you list, only
UAB, NJIT, Bryant
are good schools (there are many St Mary’s. If you mean the one in California, yes it’s good too).
UAB and NJIT are larger, but are also very commuter.
Has the coach reached out to you or did you receive emails with promotional announcements?

I have received mails from some assistant coaches from those universities. Yes, St Mary’s is the one from California. I am cognizant that earning an almost complete scholarship is really difficult and because of that, I need a good but not really good college in order to increase my chances to earn a good scholarship. I would really appreciate if you could make a list of some universities I should contact, given my case.

You need to talk to each of the coaches. They may or may not have a full scholarship to offer you. I know soccer (futbol) uses some partials which won’t help you.

Yes, I know that it is not easy at all but some colleges have told me that they also can mix an athletic scholarship and an academic one. Maybe that could help me too. I am going to take the SAT twice, in October and in November.

Okay, then your best bets are
UAB, NJIT, Bryant, St Mary’s College

Since your family makes little money, you’d actually be in good shape for Dv3 and NAIA colleges, which base their scholarships on how much they want you and how little your family makes.

Fill out the “prospective recruit” questionnaire AND contact the coach at:
Montclair State
St Lawrence
Drew
Trinity-Texas
Ohio Wesleyan
Christopher Newport
John Carroll (OH)
Lycoming
Wheaton (MA)
UC Merced
Carroll (MT)
Lawrence Tech (MI)
Nebraska Wesleyan
Oregon Institute of Technology
Southern Oregon University

These all offer decent academics but are not so selective that you wouldn’t be eligible for an academic scholarship + have a soccer team that needs a good player; while not all are “big”, none are really small. Don’t forget to indicate your academic stats as well as athletic stats when you write the coach and fill out the “prospective recruit” questionnaire.

That was really helpful, thank you really much!!
