I am about to transfer from CSU from community college and have qustion on trying to transfer to UC

Hello, I have a question on transferring to UC after CSU.

After disappointing hearing on admission decision, I was in need of some help. I am aware that after transferring to CSU from community college, GPA start over. So if I were to attempt to transfer from that CSU to UCs or even high prestige CSU, do they look over the old GPA, and what would the requirements be, or any advices you could give .

You GPA does not “start over”. When you transfer, your new school may no longer factor previous grades when they do their calculations , but your entire goes with you if you transfer again, apply to scholarships, grad schools, etc.

You will likely be unable to travafer to a UC because of unit limits. The UCs don’t admit seniors, and some do not admit high unit juniors.

^Yep. You are likely over the unit cap if you spent 2 years at a CC and one year at a CSU. You cannot disregard any classes/units, and you cannot lie about your record.

@2016Candles @luckie1367 thanks for the reply. I have a follow up question, what are the chances of transferring to CSU in Winter semester? I coudln’t find many replies about that, so my assumption is very low, but I am hoping to be wrong.

It varies by CSU, but I believe it is very limited. I’d call and ask the CSUs you are interested in to find out if they offer a Winter admit.
