You're going to have to give us more information.

Are you applying this year or next year? Have you taken any SAT's yet? What were your results for O-Levels? What's your school mark? (As in, out of 4.0 GPA or 10 or whatever your school may use.) What schools are you aiming for? because we have nothing to "compare" you against. Give more details on your EC's. Are they 4 year EC's or..? Are you going to apply for financial aid? That's an important one, obviously. Excepting international need-blind schools, chances for internationals requesting aid severely plummets versus internationals who are self-financed.

I am applying for this year
I got 1880 on the SAT
Critical Reading-640
Math-580

My grandmother cannot walk so I now take care of her after I left school.

jesuscares, what you should know about Adelphi is that they award their scholarship [b[ retroactively **. That means that if you've been a good student you're going to get your scholarship at the end of your university career and not earlier.

But do you think I have a shot of getting in to Adelphi

I applied to Rutgers. What are my chances there? but I haven't sent them the Financial Statement yet. Will this cause my application to be rejected

jesuscares, I think Rutgers is pretty selective to get in and I think your stats are not really up there yet, no offence. If you plan to apply for financial aid, I think it's even harder. But nevertheless, there's no harm applying!

I think you have a good shot at getting into Adelphi. What I was saying in my earlier message is that you would need to fork out $40k yearly before getting the scholarship.

are u applying for the program they have with columbia universty??

Yes I am. I want to do that desperately

anyone mind telling me what my chances are ?
i asked people a long time ago , but that time i didnt really give all possible details about myself . .

btw - sorry for hijacking this thread, felt bored opening a new one. sorry!!

I just remembered something I wrote about my extracurriculars in my essay but I only got recommendations from2 teachers. Would that affect my chances of getting into Adelphi University

jsesuscares, you normally need to have only two recommendations. I would say you're a match for Adelphi as long as you can afford paying.
