I am confused about the Muir College requirement courses

Hello, I just got in for general biology in UCSD, hoping to become a vet one day.

So I saw this GE requirement thing for Muir, and I am extremely confused with everything and also these “elective credits”. Like what are these credits? Is it useful?
I took AP world, AP BC Calc, AP statistics exams so far.

I am planning on taking AP bio, AP chem, and AP macro and maybe…AP Art drawing exams.

Would these APs even benefit me? Since I’m going to be applying to vet school plus I am general bio. I don’t know if taking ap bio and chem and stuff will let me get away with some UCSD courses. Ap art and macro count as elective credit but should I still take it?

i dont want to waste 94 dollars just to take AP exams.

I read all of UCSD things over and over, but I still just don’t get this system :frowning:

Look up UCSD AP credits. You will see a chart of what APs fulfill what class at UCSD. If it doesn’t exempt you from a class, it counts as elective.

First look at the AP credit that UCSD will give you.
Then look at some Vet school requirements and see if they accept AP credit for Biology/Chemistry etc…

My advice is to take the AP exams. Once you attend Freshman orientation work with your advisor to determine which AP exams can help you with your GE’s or major requirements and go from there. Since you already paid, follow through with the exams.
