I am curious. Pick one: Stanford, Princeton, MIT

I already have my preference. I want to take a tally of your guys' preferences between these 3 schools!

Just name which one you prefer with one to two sentence explanation :D thanks!!!!!! Pick based on the school as a whole, the name, etc

uh, for what major?

Stanford

It seems to have a great reputation in all fields without any apparent weaknesses. I am into engineering and I think the MIT “scene” is just not for me. PLUS THE WEATHER

Stanford.

I would prefer Stanford because of its location, size, campus offerings and campus life.

MIT, without a doubt.

Definitely MIT :P

I really like the atmosphere. Also, I’m one of the MANY Indian guys interested in MSE (lol).

stanford .

Princeton.

Also, pigsatsea, please don’t take this as a knock, because I truly bid you congratulations and good will, but how did your admissions process turn out so well? Numerically you seem strong but so were many others on here who are now looking at state schools and such. Your ECs from what I could gather from your chance thread were decent but not outstanding. Do you think a bunch of it had to do with your state of residence and your essays? Few on CC seemed to do as well as you did.

thanks. obviously, I don’t post everything about myself on cc

Princeton. Only because i’m not a big fan of CA weather nor do I like math that much. lol.

Then, may I ask, the purpose of a chance thread without key information that may have affected your admissions process? :p

MIT, but go to the one you like.

pigs, you’re hurting me!

If it’s for engineering, MIT without a doubt.
Stanford for anything else.

obviously stanford

MIT… it has unbelievable academics, plus an awesomely nerdy (but still well rounded) student body. The UROP looks really good too. As long as you’re doing math/engineering/science, MIT is the best.
Also, just… not Princeton. Those eating clubs look really, really weird.

There’s more factors to a college decision than just prestige. If that were the case, definitely MIT. But does anybody ACTUALLY enjoy life on the MIT campus? No. But the Princeton/Stanford people love their lives, classmates, and school. So choose b/w those. I guess this really comes down to a personal preference thing. From what I’ve seen online (and I’ve never visited either of these 2, so keep that in mind), I’d go Stanford over Princeton.

^No, MIT is not a well rounded education by any means.

There’s no question. I had a choice between Stanford and Princeton and picked Princeton. Retrospectively, I’m surprised that I even applied to Stanford at all.

Princeton

I had the same choice, and never thought twice about it. Princeton is magical, particularly for undergraduate school.

Regarding the post on the Princeton Eating Clubs, that is what makes Princeton such a special place…they are truly incredible!

■■■■■■■■ for your own school is so unseemly. But then again, when you’re the third wheel of HYP…
