Not sure if OP has visited all these campuses or not, but you need to see if you picture yourself in a ‘big’ school setting. It’s not for everyone. I can’t speak for UMass, but Buffalo and Stony Brook are large schools both student population and land-wise, with Buffalo being bigger. Also, if you have an introverted personality, you may fair better in a smaller school setting. There will no be hand-holding at UB. Had a few friends that left after freshmen year because they were overwhelmed with the size of the school/academic programs and ended up transferring to smaller schools.
All of these schools are large, including Syracuse. Some, of course, are larger than others.
I think it’s important to differentiate between being introverted/extroverted, and needing hand-holding. One can have an introverted personality and be quite independent, able to handle things on their own. One can be an extrovert and still have trouble navigating a large school. It’s really about having the skills and knowing how to use the available resources.
I think Syracuse will have less economic diversity than the other schools.
That’s lovely. Are they covering the $35k/year gap or are they expecting you to borrow $140k + interest to cover the cost?
I notice from previous posts that they made your sister take out massive loans to attend her college and she warned you against doing the same. Listen to her.
I am extroverted and I usually prefer bigger places and bigger populations. I am shy, but still extroverted, just need to get comfortable with people and then I never stop talking.
