I am fresh. Please answer some of my questions about dorm

I just look the living options in housing.usc.edu

I found that if I live in DBLE room in Residential Hall, it will cost me 3340
if I live in Aparment (century or Parkside) with a roomate, it will cost me almost the same.
I found that the money is the same, but apartment has more space and rooms?
Why this happened? there is no reason to choose Hall. am I wrong?

You are required to live on-campus in a residence hall as a freshman.

You can live in the apartments, but they just have limited space for Freshmen.

So you agree that apartment is much better?

They’re further away.

Apartments lack the community feel of residential dorms. All my college friends and even adviser recommended to stay in a dorm the first year only because it is so vital to the college experience.
