So I have never really studied for any test in my life, and have never gotten straight A's...ever

But it is not that I am horribly unintelligent, it is just I found nothing to motivate me to get straight A's in the first place. I mean during 8th grade finals I passed with flying colors, high above average (not that it matters, its 8th grade lol)

But now I have something TO MOTIVATE me, going to a good university so I have no idea how I will do in HS

Is it really as hard as they say it is to get straight A's? I mean now that I am motivated I am studying the math curriculum early to get a head start #KhanAcademy and learning the basics of Latin this summer

That said, do I have any chance at getting Straight A's? Like at all, I am feeling pretty nervous :/

Of course. Just do all of your homework, set aside time for studying, highly limit your video game use, and you’ll be fine.

You have no clue how much that reassures me! But yea, I will stop binge playing

It matters because it’s supposed to prepare you for high school. You might have a harder time adjusting to high school if you never learned to study in middle school, but a lot of people don’t need to study all that much in high school either.
It depends on what you’re used to. I assume a lot of people on here found it easy because it was just more of the same stuff they did in middle school. In all likelihood you’ll be fine if you study and turn in all your assignments.

Studying for a consistently long period of time is hard if you’ve never done it before. I learned that the hard way. (not too hard, thankfully)

If you really set your mind to it, you can do it! I’m glad you’re already so motivated :)

People always say middle school does not matter, but I think it’s very important. Sure, grades might not matter, but it’s very important to set good studying/learning habits in middle school. People don’t just change overnight you know. I had a friend who insisted he would suddenly “try hard” once he got to class but literally had F’s all throughout middle school. We are now about to be seniors, and he still has not really changed too much.

Thank you guys so much, I will continue to search good studying habits!
