I am international student, and I am from Asia. I didn’t prepare for the test, but i want to get 400 or 500+ score for each section. But I learned Direct hits core vocabulary. What would I do? Test date 05, December. Help me :((
what are your current scores for each section?
@Tseekee if you are already scoring at or above your goal, then there’s not much advice I can give you other than to take the test and not get nervous.
If you are only scoring in the low 300s/400s, there isn’t much you can realistically do in 2 days.
Are you applying to US universities? A 400 or 500 on each section is a fairly low score, especially from international students, where admission is generally more competitive. If you can devote several weeks’ time to preparing for a possible retake, that might be a good idea.
Well, I also want to say something. I used to get 45 on the PSAT (which could be comparable to 450 critical reading on the SAT) and I crammed vocab before getting that score. So if you want the truth, cramming vocab for people under 500 cannot be of much use. (I had very poor vocab in case you’re wondering) You might have good vocab this way, but your score would be too low as a result of your not knowing how to use them correctly.
I can also tell you that raising your scores to 500+ is WAY easier than raising them from 600 to 700+, so it’s feasible, but not in a matter of days. So if you score 350 or below on each section, I advise you postpone your test till January and study hard daily for this month and the next.
