I am in a terrible situation please help me?

Hi guys, lemme explain my situation. It's very easy and short so please just read.

So I started college this past Thursday.

So far I hate the environment, distance from home, and how it is such a party school with fail parties that don't even have alcohol.

It wasn't my first choice either. And today, I went to my first math class, and it is a joke...

It's like high school. 30 kids, Homework on worksheets, and Quizzes, No midterms.

I'm beginning to feel like this is getting kinda ridiculous.

Financial aid is generous, I only pay $115 for everything but still. I want an education.

What should I do??

I won't mention which school it is, but it is a Cal State University.

I am so confused. Please help me.

I’m only counting 3 issues, only 1 of which is significant.

1) Distance from home: Moving out is always hard. Give it a few months.

The other 2 aren’t even that big:

2) Math class feels like high school: It’s just one class. Not every class you take is going to be what you expected.

3) Even I’m somewhat confused over this. First you say you hate how it’s a party school, but then you mention they don’t even have alcohol. Why would alcohol matter if you don’t like parties in the first place?

All in all, I would hardly consider this a “terrible situation”

i smell ■■■■■… However i’ll bite

Deal with it.

I’m just saying, I don’t like that it is a party school, it fails with parties too at the same time.

My roommate and I were out for a party 2 nights ago and they didn’t have beer and the cops came and stuff.

And no I’m not trolling.

I am being serious. I am considering dropping out of this school and going to a CC to transfer to a UC or somewhere with a more serious academic atmosphere.

I am just looking for options for a second chance to get into a more academic wise school.

what do you expect for $115??? That’s less than half one course at my community college!

I suggest you change your attitude. Look at the math class as a blessing while you get used to being away from home what is wrong with taking an easy class?

parties? find a better party.

Missing home? if you didnt miss home. That would mean that your home sux. So be happy that you miss home.

Have you ever read the book: “the power of postive thinking”? if you havent? I suggest you do so and quick.

you’ve been in college for 4-5 days. come back in a few months if you still feel the same.

Yeah, give it a chance. If you truly don’t find yourself adjusting after a few months, then considering transferring, etc.

It’s only been a little while. You’ve only seen the surface, experienced the most obvious parties, been in lower-division math classes. Your math class will change. You’ll find the better parties. You’ll get used to being away from home. This is a change. A lot of changes are hard to get used to–I should know. I’ve been rather change-resistant since I was little. But you get over it. Give it a little while. Let yourself get to know the area/college/community a little better before you start judging it. Come back in a few months, and if it’s still awful, then maybe you could bring it up again.

you’ve been to one party and one class. i’m guessing you’re at san diego state just from socal + party school, but i could be wrong. you’re projecting ONE THING onto ALL OF THE THINGS. do you realize how illogical that is?
