I’m only counting 3 issues, only 1 of which is significant.

1) Distance from home: Moving out is always hard. Give it a few months.

The other 2 aren’t even that big:

2) Math class feels like high school: It’s just one class. Not every class you take is going to be what you expected.

3) Even I’m somewhat confused over this. First you say you hate how it’s a party school, but then you mention they don’t even have alcohol. Why would alcohol matter if you don’t like parties in the first place?

All in all, I would hardly consider this a “terrible situation”

I’m just saying, I don’t like that it is a party school, it fails with parties too at the same time.

My roommate and I were out for a party 2 nights ago and they didn’t have beer and the cops came and stuff.

And no I’m not trolling.

I am being serious. I am considering dropping out of this school and going to a CC to transfer to a UC or somewhere with a more serious academic atmosphere.

I suggest you change your attitude. Look at the math class as a blessing while you get used to being away from home what is wrong with taking an easy class?

parties? find a better party.

Missing home? if you didnt miss home. That would mean that your home sux. So be happy that you miss home.

Have you ever read the book: “the power of postive thinking”? if you havent? I suggest you do so and quick.

It’s only been a little while. You’ve only seen the surface, experienced the most obvious parties, been in lower-division math classes. Your math class will change. You’ll find the better parties. You’ll get used to being away from home. This is a change. A lot of changes are hard to get used to–I should know. I’ve been rather change-resistant since I was little. But you get over it. Give it a little while. Let yourself get to know the area/college/community a little better before you start judging it. Come back in a few months, and if it’s still awful, then maybe you could bring it up again.

you’ve been to one party and one class. i’m guessing you’re at san diego state just from socal + party school, but i could be wrong. you’re projecting ONE THING onto ALL OF THE THINGS. do you realize how illogical that is?
