i am in desperate need of some advice..

<p>hello. i'm that type of kid who happens to study hard, not smart. i'm not book smart but i tend to work my ass off on things. so apparently sat scores came out this morning and i got a slap in the face..and i have lost some hope now for college stuff.. plz give me feedback whether or not you believe i can make it into these schools?</p>

<p>really hoping to get in:
uc irvine or uc san diego</p>

<p>my reach schools (that i'm unlikely to get in ..but applying for the sake of trying):
uc berkeley, ucla</p>

<p>others:
uc santa cruz, uc santa barbara</p>

<p>back ups:
san diego state, san jose state, san francisco state</p>

<p>current stats about myself..</p>

<p>SatI: 1720 (aiming for a 1900 on the Dec one) got a 1570 in march (yes..yikes)
satII: italian : 720
taking us history & lit in less than 2 weeks</p>

<p>i'm taking ap psyc, ap english lit, and ap statistics right now..
i have a 4.3 gpa this quarter so far but my overall 9-11th is a 3.72 weighted </p>

<p>president of fashion club (12th grade)
copresident of reading club (help elementary school children read) (11th, 12th)
secretary of french club (11th, 12th)
national honors society (11th, 12th)
christian club secretary (11th grade)</p>

<li>150+ hours of community service </li>
<li>yearbook photographer</li>
<li>jv badminton team (9th/ 10th)</li>
<li>piano (national guild member) (9th-12th)</li>
<li> foil fencing (12th)</li>
<li>yearbook photographer (received excellence in photography by san diego state university this summer) (12th) </li>
<li>internship as an accounting assistant at a startup company (12th)</li>
</ul>

<p>i took the ap english language last year but i didn't pass.. i got a 2 =/</p>

<p>i do a lot of stuff outside of school...my grades aren't way up there but they are decent, and my sat score is pulling me down however i'm studying hard , hoping to get a better score on the dec. one. </p>

<p>i'm also constantly editing my college essay..if anyone is interested in checking that out ask? i would love for feedback.. thank you , again.</p>

<p>your GPA, APs, and ECs are fine. You have to retake the SAT. Don't worry about where you'll get in, just worry about increasing your score, and when it's all said and done you should be content because you did your best. </p>

<p>The only "secret" to doing well on the SAT is practice, practice, practice, and of course some more practice. Do tests at home, do them during lunch break, do them in library, do them on the bus, just do test. Your life should revolve around eating, sleeping, school, and doing tests. This is coming from a guy with near perfect score.</p>
