I am in the process of publishing my book, and just okay'ed the final proof, but it won't be available for sale for another 15 days. How should I write this on my college apps? Should I mention it at all...? It is an accomplishment I am rather proud of ...

It depends on whether or not you’re paying to publish it yourself, and where it’s being sold.

I am not paying for it myself.

It will be available on Amazon, Target, local bookstores, etc.

Well then, as long as it’s not a coloring book, book on sexual positions, or the like, it’s a pretty darn impressive accomplishment. You could put under “additional information,” send them some sort of proof you actually wrote it, and maybe a signed copy for good measure.

well there is sometime until it is released…cuz my final proof is going to be sent back tuesday. but i want to write it for my EA apps…so to make it legit, should like write the ISBN number and an overview of the book in additional info and then just be like it will be available for sale by the end of the month?

Do you have a publisher who is paying you for it?

Yes, I recieve royalties and such for every book that I sell. However, this is more of a local publisher hence the reason it is going to be sold primarily at local bookstores and conventions (the content of the book is appropriate to specific events going to be held in the future in Chicago). It will also be available at Amazon…though I suspect my main source of revenue from local customers.

Also, with this publisher I am *still * elgible to submit my manuscript to other large scale publishers, which I am in the process of doing…though it is not easy at all!

Again, this is all in the process. My final proof is complete, but my work won’t be available for sale immediately obviously.

Sooo I just want to know how, or if, i should write this on my college apps

Write the second description you wrote here.

By the time applications are due your book will be published, right? So write about it as if it’s been published already, because by the time your app is read, it will be.
