I am Lost, thanks to UM Decision Process....

Alright, so I applied to UM Regular Decision as an International Applicant on the 2nd of February.....

My school, sent all the required stuff like transcripts, councelor rec, teacher rec etc.. before the deadline as well..

Then on the 8th of March I check the credentials sections just for the fun of it, and it shows that UM has received everything except the Teacher rec.. Which is not possible as everything was dispatched together in a packet...

So anyway the school resends the Teacher Rec, and UM receives it on the 11th of March..

Now today it's the 6th of April, and still I have not received any decision.. Wolverine Access still shows only 2 buttons: Application Status and Credentials....

So my question is, Can i still get accepted? Even though it is pretty late now....
Or should i just give up the dream of being accepted? and accept the fact that i have been wait listed or worse rejected?

uh it hasn’t even been a month since they got everything, don’t expect them to make a decision that fast, especially when its already march in the college admissions process. I’d count on mid april since that is about the time when U of M sends out the last batch of decisions.

UMich states everyone will hear back by April 15th, note: mostly rejections as no one have been rejected yet and typically only half of their applications are admitted.
Your note alone in the process, I was deferred in November and have yet to hear back.

Did people forget what ‘patience’ is these days?

@Jamiecago
Did people forget how to deal with their ‘frustration’ in a more useful way, other than not being helpful and acting like a ******?

^well…your original post isn’t the most intelligent either. You haven’t even waited a month and are asking for a decision already. Don’t expect that someone is not going to be snarky or be a smartass with you.

@collegebound_guy

wait, so you are saying, that UM did not even start the admission process until they received the teacher rec? in that case this sucks.

“Alright, so I applied to UM Regular Decision as an International Applicant on the 2nd of February…”

Next time, try to apply before the deadline (Michigan’s deadline is February 1). Students who apply after the deadline do not demonstrate much interest in the institution. At any rate, you will get a response by the 15th of April.

Michigan usually does not start the evaluation process until your application is complete. Your original teacher rec was probably mis-filed (it happens more often than they would like you to know; not only at Michigan but it’s been reported at a lot of schools). That is why it is important to follow through to make sure your application is complete.

It is also important to apply early for rolling admission schools as the spaces become more and more competitive if you apply right before the deadline.

In any case, your application should have been processed by now. Decisions are coming out in batches. Keep checking your Wolverine Access, you should hear before April 15.
