I am not a statistic: Pursuit to break 2100.

Looking forward to your next update!

I’ve also made a separate thread to track my progress, so as not to get in the way of your posts. Here it is: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/1388720-towards-perfect-scores-log.html

Haphazard. This thread motivated me like crazy. I’m giving the sat in October too. Last 2 practice tests ive been scoring just above 2100. I started out 2 months ago at 1880. I want to go above 2300 somehow and I have exactly 26 days to do so. It’s awesome how you’ve been religious to practicing everyday. I hope you’re score is amazing. This thread literally has motivated me to work harder!
I usually score 780+ on math so message me any of your problems or if you need tips, tell me. What I’m really bad at is CR which now I’m working on! Hope it all goes well. Seriously very impressed by you! Good luck!

Missed 5 on a single math section. I’m pretty upset. I’m gonna check my mistakes and take a full length practice test tomorrow.

You can do it! But here’s a tip: when you’re feeling a little disappointed, just take a break. Don’t eat through practice tests if you’re not at 100%. Take regular breaks to get the most out of study sessions; often times, we sit for too long; we sit well past the limits of our attention spans.

Get up, walk around, get some water, use the bathroom, do some push-ups, crunches, etc. Exercise helps get the blood circulating again, and that’ll help with your focus, as well as your general health. In fact, sitting for extended periods takes years off your lifespan. Forget about the SAT for a second. Forget about your fatigued mind, and your lack of focus. We’re talking about something much more important. Just get up and move about if anything. I personally get up every half-hour or so to do 10 push-ups.

Thanks IceQube! I usually workout 45 min daily, but some days I’m not able to get to the workout. I wasted the bulk of my day skyping with one of best friends that moved out of state two years ago. We’re both looking at the same school, but we will both need to score well on standardized tests, as well as write stellar essays, to be considered for the school. Tomorrow, I’m planning on doing a few individual sections of CR/M and going through academichacker’s how to score a 12 essay in 10 days. I’ll update tomorrow after school. I’ve had a rough couple of days. :(

haven’t posted in a while.

Just did 1 section of kaplan math, 2 more and I’ll be moving on to 1 chung test daily.
starting writing reviewing (concepts) again.

I hate how the BB gives you score range, of COURSE you would look at the higher end of the score range… ■■■.

I only took a section of math and a section of cr. I went a little over on the cr. I think I should’ve just took an untimed one, so this result isn’t a legit 25 min. I’d say that I went over about 2 min. I missed 4 questions out of 24. The math section was a 25 min section with 8 mc and 10 student-produced responses. I missed 2 mc and 2 student-response questions. I’m gonna finish up some more homework, and I’ll get back to SAT stuff if I have time.

I also noticed that I miss around 2 or less if I do an untimed cr section. I am a slow reader and I guess I really contemplate the remaining two answer choices after using P.o.e. Does anyone have any tips on how to increase reading speed, while comprehending the material and the answer choices? I think if I am able to finish in the time allotted, then I’d probably score much higher; 700+.

Haven’t done SAT stuff in some time, hw and procrastination! Definitely will do some CR tomorrow, hoping to do a couple more words too.

Migraine. I didn’t get to fully review the questions I missed. I’ll have to do that tomorrow. I studied for an AP Bio test I have tomorrow and finished some AP Cal work. My head has been killing me. I think I’m done for the night. I’m really sorry guys. The last few days have been dreadful. I really need to get my stuff together and attack the SAT, which is less than a month away; scary.

Haphazard
I hope to get 2100 in the next oct sat test too
but I am not so hard working like you
I think i should be hard to myself and waste less time on other things
wish we both have good scores!

Wow. You’re working really hard mate. I hope you get 2250+.

finished 1 kap math, gonna do some hw and finish up my 10 pgs of writing concept reading.

i need to secure a 700+ on math and writing to almost guarantee myself a 2100+ on the SAT. (cr bleh)

Thread is inspiring. I too will be starting hard/cramming for the october SAT. I have the Barrons SAT book and the Barrons Mathbook coming tomorrow. Hopefully it won’t be too late.

The blue book is all I need. :P

Just a test a week is my only form of training.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

Yeah, I just got home. I have a lot of homework, but I’m gonna try to squeeze in a few sections of Math and CR. I have yet to even practice writing essays and doing MC sections. I’ll update you guys with the breakdown a bit later.

finished 1 kap math
off to study some ap calc for a quiz tmrw.

Well, it’s been a while since I posted and not much has changed.

My lazy ass decided not to do anything for a week so basically wasted 7 days right there.

I’m so frustrated at myself now, and because of that, I’m doing horrible on the W section. I use to be able to get 26-28/35 questions right and now I’m barely getting 20/35. Part of it I think has to do with the fact that I’m not completely paying attention when I go over the questions that I got wrong. But, I think it’s also because I became too confident in my abilities and well, you can see the result.

I did 3 sections of M about 2-3 days ago and got a raw score of 43 which is my highest so far, so that’s something that I improved on.

Haven’t done any CR yet and I’m starting to get too lazy as I keep telling myself I’ll do it later, but never do.

So, any tips to kind of re-spark the fire?

How do you guys balance school work with SAT Prep? Now that my school started, I feel like I’m being bombarded with schoolwork with no time to study for the SATs. Any suggestions or tips/strategies that you guys may do?

Yeah…I’ve been hit with homework and tests everyday since school pretty much started. I think my scores are probably going to suffer due to lack to practice. My extra curriculars have me staying after school till 5-6 pm everyday. I come home exhausted, which then leads to me sleeping and waking up at an awkward time to do homework. This is just one vicious cycle. I’m going to finish homework now. I really hope that I can at least do a few sections tonight.
