I am not a statistic: Pursuit to break 2100.

I was pretty much knocked out from 12 pm to 7 am. I kind of wish that I would’ve slept like 3-4 hours instead of 7. I’m about to finish test #1 and review everything. Write a few essays and look over vocab.

I have a question for you guys: what do you do when you the time is up and you have 2-3 questions that you didn’t get a chance to answer? Assuming that you didn’t even read the question, do you mark a random choice A-E or do you leave it blank?

Never get in that situation, I look at the clock after every few minutes or questions and whenever its like down to last 5 minutes i rush through the section making sure i answer everything, even though i usually lose accuracy it is still worth it.

Im on the 4th sat blue book test, im going to finish it today and then maybe look over some vocab words and pray i do well tomorrow. Good luck to everyone.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow. I am also taking it and I am pretty nervous. My score Jan 2012 was in the 1700’s. I am looking forward to a huge improvement.

I’m taking this old SAT test from 2001 and it is outrageously more difficult than the modern tests. I’m really hoping that the test tomorrow won’t be so ridiculous as this one.

CR: 670 (SO close to a 700)
M: 600 (Improving… I omitted quite a lot though)
W: 725 (w/ 8 essay)

Total: 1995 (5 points from 2000… -_-)
So much studying to do. I can never understand people who say “don’t study the night before the SAT.”

Not much of a chance to study. Good luck guys. I’m not feeling so good about this test, but I can’t do anything now. Hopefully the hard work pays off. I have a tendency to get extremely stressed and nervous about tests, which ultimately leads to my downfall when taking high stakes tests.

I don’t see the point for me trying to cram anymore. I also feel unprepared/not very good about this test, but in the end, it’s my fault for not having studied earlier and the fact that I wasn’t as dedicated to studying in the past months. I realize that this score will determine whether I get accepted into my dream college or not, and I honestly predict that I will be rejected… but I guess I’ll apply anyway and see what happens.

I’m going to lastly review my vocab and then get some sleep. It’s only 9PM right now but I’m already feeling drowsy.

Good-luck to everyone tomorrow!

I can’t sleep! ■■■!!!

Going to sleep now, its 1 AM here in PA, i just finished a test but it was bad and the range was so vague, like 1900-2170

Good luck everyone! Registration starts in 20 min!

hi guys i am in the marathon too. my goal is to jump from 1630 to 2100 pls encourage me on the way

my plans for today are:

  1. read common problems in grammar from BARRONS fat book
  2. solve 2 writing (mcq) sections from 11 prac test (princeton review)
  3. learn 40 new words from major test vocab list
4.solve 2 critical reading sections from blue book
and finally solve 2 more writing sections from blue book.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED …

That test was somewhat scary. How do you guys think you think?

Hope you guys did okay! I am taking my test in December…prep still going on. Have done a LOT of new words. My range for CR is 660-730…so vague I hate it! Prepping for math a bit more now cuz I’ve focused so much time on CR

I felt great, i finished like 7 of the sections with about 5 minutes to spare, besides a few tricky ones that i did not know the vocab i think i got it, and math seemed too easy…
I think i beat 2100

Mixed bag. Think I did better on essay than May, but worse on writing MC -_-. Math I think I improved. CR was for most part not bad but on the first CR section I think I missed some vocab AND passage stuff. Ugh. Hope your quest was successful, Haphazard! Do you think you made your goal?

Eh, I feel unsure about the entire test. A small part of me thinks I did alright, while the other part thinks I completely bombed it. The essay topic was very obscure. I didn’t see such an obscure topic coming, which caused me to waste around 3 minutes just thinking about possible examples. I think I wrote nearly 7 paragraphs. I was about to finish my conclusion, but time was up. I had like 2 sentences left and like 3-4 lines of space left. I think my essay would’ve definitely been more solid had I finished the conclusion. I made a lot of stupid mistakes on the math, which will probably be my downfall. Critical reading was a bit eh as well. I definitely missed a few vocab, and I felt uneasy about some of the passages as well. I was rushing the last minute to finish the section. The procter would say 5 minutes left, and I’d have like 8 questions to answer. I really rushed CR, so I’m not completely sure how I did. As far as Writing MC goes, I feel somewhat confident. I had two writing MC’s - one was easy and the other one seemed difficult - I’m not sure which of the two is experimental. Hopefully the easy one was the real one. Do you guys think you met your goals? Did you omit any questions or completely guess?

Also, did you guys have any distractions while taking the test? Some brutish people were playing ridiculously loud brutish music outside the testing center. The room I was in was shaking and vibrating. I also got distracted by a few other things. Hopefully these things didn’t severely hinder my ability to score well. Also, I’m continuing this thread this November. I may start one for the SAT 2 subject tests as well.

Hey HapHazard, i’ve been following this thread, but refrained from posting since I wanted you to be able to differentiate your own progress rather than interfere. But hey, i must say, we are very alike. I had the same goal of breaking 2100 too. Even the tests we had today was the same! (1 experimental writing section). By the way, the experimental writing section was the first one in the two consecutive ones, the one with the identifying errors in paragraphs to be about the electoral college? I also am scared that i have made mistakes in the math section due to carelessness and for the reading, i was in the same exact boat as you with the timing situation since i was trying to get the bubbles to be as neat as possible. All we can do is hope now. :/.

I think I hopefully did well on the test. After all my vocab studying, I was quite disappointed to learn I had gotten one vocab wrong (the same number I had gotten wrong earlier without studying). But overall, I think I may have reached my goal. Math was not that bad for me and I cant think of one I got wrong. For writing, I know I got at least one wrong, which makes me more confident than I was on earlier tests. I think my essay was fairly good - I knew what to write and filled the whole two pages quite quickly. When I looked back though, I dont know if I had answered the essential part of the question, so I am hoping that I did.

Good luck to you all, in three weeks we will be able to see how our hard work paid off.
