I am on the quarter system. Do my Winter Quarter grades matter that much?

Most common app schools have their applications due march 15th. if winter quarter for my school does not end until april 2nd, then how important are my winter quarter grades? i have something like like a 3.7 (3.67?) but i'm pretty sure i'm going to get a C in one of my classes this quyarter. Namely because college applications are so time consuming, i just havent been able to spend as much time as I would have liked on my classes.

i do know that colleges eventually see all your grades in the summer but i'm wondering if they'll see this C while they are still making their descision.

Unless you have to submit a mid-semester report, or something of that nature, I don't see how your winter quarter grades will play a role in your admission decision. I'm in a very similar situation...a tough quarter coupled with the added burden/stress of applying for transfer will almost certainly result in my getting a C this time around. (A stark constrast to my 3.94 GPA.) Luckily, I don't have to submit any sort of mid-semester report, and as I understand it the colleges I've applied to won't see my winter or spring quarter grades until this summer, well after decisions have been made. As long as our winter/spring grades aren't bad enough to warrant rescindment, there shouldn't be a problem.

(If anyone sees something I've missed, please feel free to chime in.)

gotcha. sounds good to me. Good luck!

Winter grades won't hurt you but they can help you(if they didn't suck)
