<p>Stanford doesn't use the common app? But if you are talking about most colleges, it doesn't matter when you turn in the supplement as long as it is not after the final deadline (unless they have another deadline just for the supplement but the only college I know that has this is swarthmore). Even though they say they want the basic info forms/supplement as soon as possible, it's fine to send it whenever. Shouldn't ruin your chances... I'm pretty sure.</p>
<p>The only reason sending it toward the end of the deadline could hurt your chances is if the post office screws something up--then you might have no time to correct it. Colleges won't think you are procrastinating, because they understand that some people want to spend as long as possible on the application, while others are waiting to hear back from awards they could put on their application.</p>
